Esther’s Banquet 美麗的陷井

Chapter and verse：Esther 7 : 1~2                                           章節：以斯帖7 : 1~2

So the king and Haman came to banquet with Esther the queen. And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom.
王帶著哈曼來赴王后以斯帖的筵席。
這第二次在酒席筵前、王又問以斯帖說、王后以斯帖阿、你要甚麼、我必賜給你、你求甚麼、就是國的一半、也必為你成就。

說明與應用：
Ahasuerus 亞哈魯王是波斯帝國的王，Esther以斯帖是猶太女子，被選為王后，Haman哈曼是當時的王朝大臣。Haman因為厭惡猶太人，要設計陷害殺滅猶太人。Esther假借宴會邀請王相大人參加，會中掘穿Haman的陰謀，最後大王命令將Haman一伙下獄處死。所以Esther’s Banquet表示盛宴背後所隱藏的美麗陷井。
故事中還有一位重要人物，Mordecai莫底改，是Esther的叔叔，同在王朝裡服務，是穿針引線的靈魂人物。Mordecai’s Day也稱為the day of feasting and gladness,慶祝Purim普珥日。Purim成為猶太人很重要的節日。
和這故事有關的另一個典故是Providence of God上帝所預備的，是未雨綢繆的意思，表示上帝預備了Esther在波斯王國成為王后，拯救以色列人。
